eInvoicing Regulations Globally

eInvoicing in Spain

On 19 June 2023, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation published the draft Royal Decree implementing Law 18/2022 Crea y Crece, which extends the obligation to send and receive electronic invoices between companies and freelancers in Spain.

The Crea y Crece Law in Spain stipulates that electronic invoicing will become a requirement for companies and B2B invoicing in 2025. It is currently awaiting publication.

eInvoicing in Australia and New Zealand

The Australian Government’s has recently started the Business eInvoicing Right (BER) initiative to promote the use of Business-to-Business (B2B) eInvoicing in Australia.

Once approved, all companies will have the option to ask their trading partners to send them eInvoices in the Peppol format. The goal of the BER initiative is to gradually make e-Invoicing mandatory for Australian companies based on their size.
